Enrico Donati: Surrealism and Beyond, Theodore Wolff

Descriere

Donati, the young Italian anointed Surrealism's Wunderkind by Andre Breton in 1942, has gone on to a rich career as an artist of the New York School, his vision transformed many times over through 55 years of highly provocative, richly textured, ravishingly colourful work. Enrico Donati: Surrealism and Beyond provides a retrospective survey of this master's paintings and sculpture, works that are not only visually stunning but also profoundly moving and enigmatic. This is an art that celebrates, mystifies, delights, enchants, and provokes; an art that moves the viewer to share Donati's wonder and awe at mysteries and realities as old as time and as challenging as the riddles of the Sphinx.
