Nicolae Donitch - A pioneer of the International Astronomical Union | Magda Stavinschi

Descriere

I’m so glad to make the acquaintance of Nicolae Donitch through Magda Stavinischi’s interesting book. I hadn’t known of the pioneering work on solar eclipses that Prof. Donitch carried out about 100 years ago, and from what this book reveals, I wish I could have been on his expeditions. Further, I am astounded at the detective story that allowed Prof. Stavinschi to uncover so much about her predecessor’s later life and activity. Jay M. Pasachoff, Chair of the International Astronomical Union’s Working Group on Solar Eclipses
